After decades of working in Silicon Valley’s hi-tech industry, upon retirement I created Horseshoe Bar Preserve for individuals like me who wanted a place where they could enjoy solitude and take a break from the stress of daily life.   I acquired ownership of five miles of property located on both sides of the Middle Fork of the American River.  What better place to unwind and fly fish than on five miles of a pristine river loaded with wild trout?   Click on the video below for a glimpse of the preserve.

Horseshoe Bar Preserve ensures a true wilderness fly-fishing experience located two hours from the San Francisco Bay Area.  If you have access to a plane, you can fly into Auburn airport and be on the water casting to rising wild trout in 30 minutes.  When you are having a tough week, you deserve a day on the river with a friend or in solitude by yourself.

At the end of the day, you can return to the campground overlooking one of the most beautiful and productive sections of the river to share the experience with your guest, fellow member or in solitude. The fully equipped outdoor kitchen provides everything you need to prepare your meal. Three bunkhouse cabins and restrooms allow for a quick and easy getaway. Sitting around a campfire overlooking the pristine river and being enveloped in tranquility makes Horseshoe Bar Preserve uniquely special.

We have a limited membership for those who enjoy this unspoiled, gated preserve. While being able to take pleasure in the natural environment, our mission is to safeguard this property in its ecological state for the enjoyment of our members, guests and for future generations.

Please feel free to contact us for membership information.
